Overnight rains ruined the chances of any play on the third day of the Duleep Trophy match between India Blue and India Green. With only one day left in the contest, it could well turn out to be a one-innings shootout for the first innings lead if the inclement weather stays away.

Persistent rain on Sunday had forced abandonment of the second day’s play and despite the rains relenting, the outfield had taken plenty of water and wasn’t in a good condition for play to resume. Eventually, the organizers called off play during the post-tea session.

Having been asked to bat first on a seamer friendly track, India Blue limped to 112 for 6 from the 49 overs that were possible on the first day.

Brief scores: India Blue: 112/6 (Ruturaj Gaikwad 30, Ankit Bawne 21*; Ishan Porel 3-26, Tanveer Ul-Haq 2-36) vs India Green
